ethos

When you create your own personal ethos statement, it can help you feel more satisfied in your everyday life. The act of documenting your statement can instill purpose and focus for you within your business.

Thanks to ASEA Founder Tyler Norton, we have a strong company ethos. ASEA Impact EU shared this information on how and why you might consider creating your own personal business ethos.

“One of the great things about the strong company ethos at ASEA is that it provides a positive, principled identity for people of different backgrounds looking to make a difference.”

Tips to Create Your Own Business Ethos

  1. List Your Successes. By simply listing your personal and professional successes you should begin to see a common theme in the types of skills, talents, and core values.
  2. List How You Would Like to Make a Difference. Write a list of the types of things that you’d like to get involved in or change that you think will make a difference in the world. Think locally, nationally, and internationally … just write it all down.
  3. Energizing & Motivating List. This last list should be about the types of things that energize you or motivate you. We want to start focusing on things that will not just improve the world but also invigorate you.
  4. Write Your Ethos Statement. Gather your 3 lists and extract your strongest common theme. Piece together a statement that outlines your specific goals and intentions for your business. Be specific about what you want to do for the world and how your values and skills will be put to use to make it happen. Some companies incorporate their ethos into their mission statement.
